25-year-old Nigerian faces 20 years in jail over $500,000 fraud

- Wiseman Oputa set up a number of bank accounts with bogus passports over a year, in which he managed to steal at least $500,000
- He has pleaded guilty to the charges and is currently being prosecuted

The United States Federal court has convicted a 25-year-old Nigerian man, Wiseman Oputa, on charges of wire fraud and internet scams. He reportedly set up a number of bank accounts with bogus passports over a year, in which he managed to steal at least $500,000 through wire fraud and Internet scams. According to Sahara Reporters, Oputa pleaded guilty to opening bank accounts in the area surrounding Houston, using counterfeit passports.
The full statement by US Attorney’s Office, Southern District of Texas says in part: Beginning Jan. 1, 2016, until Jan. 25, 2017, Oputa used counterfeit passports to open bank accounts in the greater Houston area. The passports contained photographs of Oputa but had different names and identification information. He then worked with others to lure victims into sending money into these bank accounts. These funds were obtained through a variety of internet scams, including business email compromise, romance schemes and unauthorized intrusions into company email accounts. Checks or wire transfers were then sent from the company’s accounts payable to accounts Oputa or others controlled. Oputa would then use the counterfeit passports to retrieve the fraudulently obtained funds. Meanwhile, Men of the 'Operation Burst' in Oyo state have nabbed 5 fraudsters popularly know as yahoo boys. The fraudsters were handed over to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and interrogations show that the fraudsters were swindling foreign women.

FG to reward whistle-blowers on illegal weapons – presidency

- The presidency is set to begin another phase of whistle-blowing
- The whistle blowing will focus on weapon ownership
- The aim is to disarm communities especially those with proclivity to violence
The National Security Adviser, Maj-Gen. Babagana Munguno (rtd) has began work on a template for the discovery and recovery of illegal weapons through a reward system. Malam Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, confirmed this development in a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday. The aim is to disarm communities especially those with proclivity to violence.
According to the presidential spokesman, the Office of National Security Adviser (ONSA) is adopting the whistle-blowing approach so as to eradicate mass shooting incidents and remove the harassment of law abiding citizens by holders of illegal weapons. He said the proposed adoption of the whistle-blowing policy on illegal weapons by the Federal Government followed the success of the policy in the recovery of huge amount of questionable and stolen funds by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Shehu, therefore, said the presidency had started drawing up the rules of a whistle-blower mechanism to throw a spotlight on the regime of gun ownership and control as a bold move to prevent and eradicate illegal ownership of small arms and light weapons in the country. He said that this would be a sort of searchlight on weapons ownership in the country, adding that the aim was to disarm communities especially those with proclivity to violence. “In the last few days, we had discussed the efforts the administration is making to strengthen the whistle-blower mechanism in the Ministry of Finance, which to date has proved to be very effective in bringing the attention of the government to stolen assets and unexplained wealth. “The ONSA initiative may be an independent line of inquiry or in active collaboration with what the government is doing in Finance. This will be a sort of searchlight on weapons ownership in the country. “Whatever form or shape it takes, the administration wants to take a tough line to curtail the large number of illegal weapons in circulation used in intra and inter-communal conflicts,’’ he said. Shehu disclosed that the ONSA had already inaugurated a committee saddled with the responsibility of the recovery of small arms and light weapons in the country The whistle-blowing policy, which has been approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) is meant to expose fraud and other related crimes in both the public and the private sectors. The policy was devised by the Ministry of Finance aimed at encouraging anyone with information about a violation, misconduct or improper activity that impacts negatively on Nigerians and government to report it. “If there is a voluntary return of stolen or concealed public funds or assets on the account of the information provided, the whistle blower may be entitled to anywhere between 2.5 per cent (minimum) and 5.0 per cent (maximum) of the total amount recovered,’’ Minister of finance Kemi Adeosun said. The policy has recorded appreciable success as it has led to the discovery of billions of Naira in the last few months since it started.

THE VILLAGE GIRL. . . . EPISODE 7

THE VILLAGE GIRL. . . . EPISODE 7

He asked Stella to take her things inside
and show
her to a room.
Stella grudgingly extended a fat hand.
‘Let me carry your bag.’
‘Worrying not, Anty Ste-llar. I carrying my
bag
myself.’
Stella took back her hand quickly. As if she
was
dying to help her with the bag before.
She showed her to a room and showed her,
all with
a bit of grudge, how to shower.
‘You smell nice,’ Nnanna told her when she
came
into the sitting room again.
‘Thanking you, jare.’
‘What fragrance is that?’
‘F-l-a gini?’
He smiled.
‘You washing oyinbo. Putting Mr. Ibu na.’
She held
her long gown together in between her legs
and
made to sit on the floor, cold and smooth
with
shiny cream-colored tiles.
‘No. You can sit on the couch.’
‘No. I liking to sitting here.’
She screamed when a Nollywood movie
came on.
But it wasn’t Mr. Ibu. Patience Ozokwo was
raving
and ranting at one of her daughters who
had
started to date the son of her enemy.
‘You like it?’ he asked.
She nodded. ‘I liking Patience well well.’
‘Hmm.’
She watched the movie with sounds, oh’ing,
hey’ing and aw’ing to the actions. ‘So
when is
Madam coming back?’ she asked.
‘Madam?’
‘Your wife.’
He stared at her before looking up at the
clock. He
picked his phone and scrolled down to the
number
saved with ‘Boo of Life.’
The reception was poor and he managed to
make
out her ‘Baby, almost home’ in the midst of
scratchy noises.
He turned the TV volume down a bit and
turned to
Mma.
‘Look, Mma, this is a mistake, you know
that?’
She nodded.
‘It was never my intention to put you in this
way.’
She nodded. ‘Stopping to blame yourself
na. I
opening my legs for you, I faulting myself
too.’
He inhaled deeply. ‘When my fiancee comes
home
we will make a decision. Hope you’ll be
okay with
that.’
Mma nodded. ‘Anything she saying, I
agreeing.’
He stared at her and then moved his head
in a
nod. ‘Ok.’ He ran his hand across his lower
lip. ‘I
promise you –‘
A noise came at the door.
He turned. ‘That must be Cynthia.’ He
looked up at
the big clock again.
‘Really late today.’
Cynthia entered, elegant in her prim dark-
grey suit
and shiny brown bag. Though her face was
dull
from exhaustion.
Mma rose quickly. ‘Good evening, Madam.’
‘Good evening.’
She hugged and kissed Nnanna.
‘Quite late, what happened?’
She shook her head, taking off her jacket.
‘The
bridge was blocked to the teeth. You have
to
consider that Lekki offer really quickly,
Richard.’
‘I think what you need is to stop work. You
shouldn’t be going through this stress
now.’
‘My leave is coming in next month.
Meanwhile, I
aint complaining yet and Dr. Hope said it’s
ok.’
He pulled down his lips. ‘If that’s what you
say.’
Mma stood there, hands folded behind her
and
head fully bowed.
‘Yes,’ Cynthia said, dropping her bag and
jacket on
the glass table. ‘If you really want to help
though,
you can do by hastening our move to the
Island.’
He made a face. Cynthia always wanted
everything
hastened; seeing her parents, moving to
Lekki,
getting a new car.
He inhaled deeply. ‘So–‘ His ‘so’ came out
loud and
his gesticulation exaggerated.
‘This is Mma. She just arrived.’
Mma gave another quick bow.
‘Welcome, Ma.’
Cynthia stared at her with pursed lips. She
did
something like a nod.
‘Richard, room.!!!’
Like a boy caught in an act of mischief by
his mom,
he followed her quietly into the room.

THE VILLAGE GIRL. . . . EPISODE 6

THE VILLAGE GIRL. . . . EPISODE 6

Another small pause and a sudden
seriousness
came over Mma’s face again. She moved
further
aside and when she talked again, her voice
went
significantly lower.
‘Yes. Very serious problem o.’
‘Mama–‘ She looked at Nkechi. She was
humming
as she gathered the rubbish of leaves and
used
recharge cards together.
Mma moved further away, closer to the
mango
tree near the edge of the road.
‘Mama chasing me out of the house o. I
even
sleeping in the bush last night.’
‘Ha! I telling you the truth o.’
‘I thinking I’m pregnant.’
A long pause.
It lingered.
‘Nnanna, you hearing me?’
She appeared surprised at herself with the
smoothness with which she called him by
his first
name. Things have changed. She was now
carrying
his child. Might be.
‘I not very sure yet but everything looking
it.
Everything.’
‘No. Very far, I not sleeping in the bush till
next
week. Telling me your address and I will
coming
myself.’
‘Ha, see you! You not knowing I have going
to
Onitsha before to looking for Okechukwu?’
‘Lagos and Onitsha, which is big pass?’
‘Is lie. Aunty Rosa saying Onitsha is
biggest city in
African.’
She ended the call with ‘Ok. I leaving first
thing
tomorrow morning.’
Nkechi told her her call was 5 minutes.
‘How much?’
‘One-fifty.’
She handed her a crisp N500 note. ‘Giving
me my
change fast fast.
She left very early that morning. Her
younger
brotherhad cried when she told him. He
begged
her not to go. But she tried to explain to
him why
she must. He didn’t seem to understand
but he
finally nodded and wiped his eyes. ‘Go well,
sister,’
he said to her.
She hugged him and told him to remember
what
she’d told him about not telling their
mother.
She took a green bus to Onitsha and
boarded a
Lagos bus at Upper Iweka.
She was shocked that after she woke up the
third
time in the bus that they hadn’t yet arrived
Lagos.
She turned to the big woman sitting next to
her.
‘Madam, please we not reaching the Lagos
yet?’
The woman shook her head. ‘No. We are in
Benin
now.’
‘Ha.’ She stirred on her seat, trying to
stretch her
legs.
The woman looked at her.
‘Sorry. My bom bom scratching me.’
‘You can stand for a while,’ the woman told
her.
She was on another round of sleep when a
hand
tapped her gently.
She came awake with a start, clutching her
Ghana-
Must-Go tightly to herself.
‘Come down,’ the man told her. ‘I want to
lock the
door.’
It took a while before she realized he was
the
driver of the bus. She looked round in the
bus,
everyone has gone down.
She was terrified. ‘Hey!’ she whimpered.
‘Driver,
we have passing Lagos?’
‘This is Ore. Come down.’
‘Hey!’ She started to cry. ‘Driver, I telling
you I
going to Lagos o! I telling you this from the
beginning o! Now you carrying me to Ole,
how I
going back now, how?’
‘Come down, we are not in Lagos yet.’ The
man’s
impatience was tempered by his
amusement.
Mma stopped crying. She eyed the man.
‘You saying we not reaching Lagos yet?’
‘We have not reached,’ the man said in
Igbo.
‘Come down.’
She climbed down from the vehicle slowly,
her bag
hugged to her belly.
‘Drop your bag in the car.’
‘No. I carrying it with me.’
The man slid the door of the bus shut. ‘Go
and find
something to eat and make sure you come
back
here fast, otherwise we will leave you
behind.’
She nodded. She bought banana and
groundnut.
‘Madam, you saying this banana is two-
fifty?’ she
asked the banana seller.
She examined the bunch again. ‘Everything
two-
fifty? You stealing it?’
The woman selling the bananas smiled and
shook
her head.
They arrived Lagos in late evening, that
time of the
day when daylight seemed to be uniting
with
darkness.
The driver stopped her at Anthony Bus stop
as
Nnanna had told her.
She called him with a public phone and he
hurriedly told her he was coming, that she
should
make sure she didn’t go anywhere.
‘Where I knowing in Lagos to going?’
She waited and after about thirty minutes
and she
hadn’t seen him, she called him again.
‘Nnanna, wearing you na? Wearing you?
You
wanting police to catching me here and
putting
my picture on TV and saying I missing?’
‘Ha, t-l-a-fik kwa? Which one is tlafik
now?’
‘Oh you meaning go-slow?’
‘Ha. But motos passing here na?’
She frowned. ‘Ok.’
‘Ok. I waiting small and I calling you
again.’
She gave the phone back to the tall slim
boy
standing beside her and paid him. ‘So
calling
somebody is ten-ten naira in Lagos?’
The call boy nodded.
‘Chai. And that fatibombo Nkechi will be
collecting
thirty-thirty naira with her kpankolo phone
that
you not even hearing anything.’ She did
something like snapping her fingers. ‘Chelu,
I will
come back for her.’
Finally Nnanna came. He drove into the
space and
waved at her.
She screamed and rushed to him, throwing
herself
into him without care.
He held her. She smelt nice despite the
long
journey. He knew from the unrefined flowery
scent
that the perfume she’d used was cheap, but
the
smell was acceptably lovely.
He wanted to kiss her and she quickly
dodged his
lips

THE VILLAGE GIRL. . . . EPISODE 5

THE VILLAGE GIRL. . . . EPISODE 5

She slept under the avocado tree that
night.
At some point her younger brother, after
he’d brought her things and sneaked her
some jollof rice wrapped in a plastic bag,
told her to now come inside that their
mother had slept.
They gathered her things quietly and with
one careful step after another, they crept
toward the house.
Like a ghost, the night-darkened image of
Onyiudo Ekemma appeared before them at
the veranda, momentarily stopping their
hearts.
She called the boy ‘nwoke obioma’, held
him tightly by the hand and pushed him
through the corridor.
She turned up the lantern in her left hand.
Mma’s teary eyes glistened in the yellow
glow.
‘Mama, biko, please forgive me,’ she said.
Onyiudo Ekemma stared at her with an
expression close to what’s expected of
someone addressing a thief, one caught in
the act of shameful and petty stealing.
‘Mama? Please, bikozienu.’
‘Bia, nwata, disappear from this place
before I kill you here and kill myself!’
Later that evening, she told her fellow
women during their Ezinne meeting that the
devil had finally penetrated her house,
using her daughter as a tool. They hissed,
hummed and sighed, consoling her.
In the morning, Nwa-amulu-na-mma wiped
dust off her long gown and walked to
Nkechi’s shop. She hadn’t opened so she
sat on the paved space before the shop
door and waited.
Soon Nkechi’s round figure appeared on
the wide ebe-ato road. Her long-roped
recharge card bag was slung across her like
a pageantry sash.
She walked slowly, twisting this way and
that in her peculiar duck-like gait. She
hummed to Onyeka Onwenu’s ‘Onye Ihem
na Ewe Iwe’ while popping sounds made by
chewable gum burst out from her mouth
once in a while.
Mma rose and waited, all the while wishing
she could throw some sort of magical rope
round her big waist and yank her to the
front of the shop.
‘Good morning,’ she greeted as Nkechi
finally arrived.
‘Morning, Nwamma.’ She shot her a
suspicious look, still humming and popping
gum.
‘This one you are here so early, hope there
is no problem.’
Mma shook her head. ‘No problem. I just
want to make a call.’
Now Nkechi stopped humming.
‘You want to make a call?’
She nodded. ‘Yes.’
‘To who? Who do you know that you want
to call?’
Mma scowled at her. ‘Do you not make
calls again or has Echezona collected his
phone back?’
Nkechi’s face changed suddenly, from
condecending to defensive.
‘The phone is now mine. Whatever that is
given in dating goes with the dating.’
‘Anugo m, can I make the call now?’
‘Won’t I sweep my shop?’
‘No, it’s urgent.’
She gave her a slow look before she started
to open her bag.
She brought out a big Nokia phone.
‘Call the number.’
Mma carefully unfolded the paper she’d
written down his number on.
She’d protested when he told her to have it,
to call him whenever she needed anything.
‘But I don’t having a phone to call you, Sir,’
she’d said to him.
He told her she could use a public center
and promised to get her a phone on his
next visit.
‘Ok, calling the number, Sir,’ she finally
said to him.
‘Won’t you write it down somewhere?’
‘Calling it. I writing it in my head.’
He looked at her, first in surprise and then
defeat.
She got home and wrapped the N10,000
he’d given her in a plastic bag. She tore
out a paper and wrote down the numbers.
As Nkechi entered the digits, her face fully
focused like one working with a delicate
stock analysis software, Mma felt an urge
to grab her and shake her to activity.
‘Take, it’s ringing now.’
She took the phone from Nkechi. It felt
heavy, not like Nnanna’s when he’d given it
to her to look at. ‘Ha, NKechi, this your
phone heaving o, it using Tiger battery?’
Nkechi hissed and told her in Igbo that ‘her
money has started counting.’
‘Don’t worry, I having money,’ she replied
her in English. ‘I –‘ A male voice came from
the phone, taking away her attention.
‘Yes. Halo to you too.’
A pause.
‘Is me, Nwa-amulu-na-mma.’
‘Yes, Mma, yes.’
Her voice was loud and Nkechi stared at
her with the amused face people used to
watch village people displaying.
Mma’s face dulled.
‘I having serious thing to tell you now o.’
‘Reallys very serious o.’
She turned her eyes and saw Nkechi
staring. She waved.
‘Go and sweeping your shop now! Abi you
wanting to entering inside the phone?’
Back to the phone. ‘No, no minding her. Is
one village girl doing call in Ebe-ato. I
using her phone to call you.’
Her already high voice went even higher.
‘Ehe, shebi you saying you buying me
phone and I not having seen the phone o.’
A small pause and a large smile popped
out of her face.
‘Oh, reallys? You buying me the phone next
week?’
She looked at Nkechi, now bent over with a
broom, to be sure she’d heard. It appeared
she did but pretending she hadn’t with her
absolute concentration in the sweeping.

THE VILLAGE GIRL. .. .EPISODE 4

THE VILLAGE GIRL. .. .EPISODE 4

She started noticing the signs some days
ago; the new change to her flow, a milky
difference, slight and strange, the unusual
tenderness of her bosoms and the new
sensation at her Tip area.
And there was the killing fatigue. She would
barely get by an hour without feeling like
dropping down on whatever soft, stretch her
legs and sleep.
Things were still normal enough with the
changes though…till the onset of the
morning sickness. That was when Onyiudo
Ekemma, her mother, confirmed her
suspicion and she reacted.
She watched her that morning till the loud
retching sounds stopped.
She spat and took a cup of water from the
tall metal drum. Her eyes were all teary as
she drank a bit of water, gurgled and threw
it out.
She was on a repeat when she heard her
mother’s voice.
‘Bia, Nwamma, come here!’
Her heart pounded as she dragged towards
her.
Onyiudo Ekemma stared at her with near
disgust, like someone with an unsightly boil
on her face.
She touched her face, pressed down the
skin area around her eyes and jerked her
face to a face.
She yelped, slamming her palms together.
‘It has finally happened! My enemies have
tried me and gotten me!’
She examined her daughter’s face again.
She clapped again. ‘Ewoo! This girl has
finally done it! Hey! Finally she has brought
shame to me!’
Her younger brother came out then. He
asked their mother what the problem was
but Onyiudo Ekemma shoved him aside and
picked one of her rubber flip-flops.
‘Foolish girl! Tell me who is responsible!’
The slapping sounds of flexible plastic burst
in the air, peppered with loud screams of
pain.
Onyiudo Ekemma was unrelenting.
‘Tell me now! Tell me the he-goat you
opened your legs for! Tell me!’
Pa pa pa pa, went the slaps on her back,
shoulder, buttocks, anywhere that seemed
possible now.
She held her firm with one hand so that
running off was not an option.
Finally she was able to and she ran deep
down the small bush bordering their
compound. She stood under the avocado
tree and tried to breathe.
Onyiudo Ekemma was unrelenting still.
‘Your bags are outside!’
Her screaming voice was followed by
jingling sounds of materials thrown off
carelessly. ‘Go to the man that has
impregnated you! You can’t live with that
shame in my house!’
Her voice lowered. ‘Mbanu, no! It can never
happen. I did not bring shame to my
mother so why would my own be different.’
‘Mama, what is–‘
‘Bia nwokem, run inside now before I
descend on you!’
The young boy quietly went inside.
Onyiude Ekemma cursed some more before
she entered her room and dressed up for
the market.
She didn’t talk with her fellow traders at
the market and even shouted at her
customers.
‘Go! If you don’t want to buy go! Do you
not know what is happening in the North
right now? Dont you know that bokoharam
have seized bama? Dont you know that
shekau is still alive? Do you think we
cultivate onions? Did I cultivate the onions
myself?’
The people that knew her before, her
sprightly attitude and refreshing perkiness,
were amazed.

THE VILLAGE GIRL....EPISODE 3

THE VILLAGE GIRL....EPISODE 3

He didn’t feel any fear as he drove into the
compound. The fear of her confrontation
about why he’d ignored her calls was
expected but it didn’t manifest. His mind
overflowed with bliss, strange but lovely.
He whistled as he parked his car. He came
down with a foreign poise, jiggling his car
keys.
Cynthia’s car, a dark blue Camry, was
parked at a corner.
He asked Okon how long his madam had
been around.
Referring to her as madam came out a bit
uneasy this time. There has a been a
happening, one capable of reversing titles.
‘E done tey, Oga,’ Okon said, his lips
pinched out in the characteristic way he
spoke.
‘When exactly?’
The short man scratched his head. ‘
Erm…erm…Oga, e done tey o. It has really
really tey.’
He resigned to a sigh and walked upstairs,
Okon tagging along with his traveler’s bag.
He drew back the curtain and met sudden
raucousness.
The speakers blared with Omawumi’s voice
as she begged to be given bottom belle so
that she would cool her heart.
Stella, their live-in maid, was at the centre
of the room, twisting this way and that in
frenzy as she tried to move her huge self to
the rhythm of the song.
The AC was on but the sweat poured off her
like one drenched in rain. The remote in her
right hand towered above her head while
her other hand held her wide skirt together
as she hihi and hehe’d to the song.
She only realized their presence when Oga
turned the player off.
She jolted. ‘Welcome, Oga.’ She raised her
shirt to wipe sweat from her face. Oga
could see the washed-out bra that held her
bounteous bosoms in place.
‘Where is your Madam?’
‘She went out, sir.’
‘Without her car?’
‘She said she need walking.’
‘Need walking?’
‘Yes, nee…need to walk.’
‘Needed to walk.’
‘Yes, sir.’
‘For whatever reason would she?’
‘Oga?’
‘Take the bag from Okon.’
‘Ok, sir.’
As Okon transferred the bag to her, they
exchanged expressions, the quick and silent
facial communication that was common to
servants. It looked like one rebuked the
other while the one being rebuked did to
mean she didn’t care.
Cynthia returned an hour later. She was
breathing heavily as she entered the sitting
room.
Richard lowered his paper and sat up on
the couch.
‘Where have you been?’
‘Went walking and I just ran up the stairs.’
‘You are exercising at this time?’
She worked out a lot and it had given her
that desirable trim body that any woman
would kill for.
‘Not really. Dr. Hope said I shouldn’t be
going heavy for now anyway. But I really
can’t sacrifice all my efforts.’
‘Dr. Hope? You went to the clinic?’
‘Yes.’ That came out with a gasp.
She flopped down on the couch, curled
round him and kissed his cheek.
‘She said I’m three weeks gone.’
He was sure he has heard a statement like
that before, in the movies maybe, but he
struggled now to decipher what she meant.
Cynthia’s face had lit up in glee. Her whole
dentition showed in a large smile. It wasn’t
often that she smiled like that.
‘Baby, what do you mean?’ he asked.
She slapped his shoulder lightly.
‘Come on, I’m pregnant.’
He momentarily blanked out. His fingers on
her thighs felt numb.
But then he recovered. And slowly his mind
settled and he understood what Cynthia’s
pregnancy meant, that it wasn’t something
to be scared of now. Not like Chidimma’s
when he was 16. Now he is a man and can
take responsibility.
A picture of a cute baby formed in his
mind, pink toothless gums showing in a
jerky baby smile.
A smile crept onto his face and soon the
excitement spread over him like smoke in a
room, shutting off all that were his earlier
thoughts.
He hugged her tight. ‘Baby, we gonne have
a baby.’ He was smiling.
Cynthia nodded promptly, holding him
tightly back.
‘A baby, can you believe that!’
She kissed his shoulder and nodded again.
From behind the separating wall of the
dining room, Stella pitched a long hiss and
entered the kitchen.
She would not add salt or pepper or Maggi
to whatever she was going to make that
evening, whatever ingredient that’d make
the food less tasty.

THE VILLAGE GIRL EPISODE 2

THE VILLAGE GIRL EPISODE 2

Cynthia continued to call. He held his
phone and pressed hard on a button by the
side. The phone’s screen turned blank
black.
‘Who calling you, Sir?’
He was so tempted to lie, but he didn’t. He
was surprised the call interruption hadn’t
quite calmed his desire and his organ
stood ever so upright, slamming at his
zippers like a burglar at a door.
‘That was my fiancee, my dear,’ he said.
‘Your fia-n-sea? What is a fia-n-sea, Sir?’
‘I Told you to stop calling me sir.’
‘But I not calling you sir, what you want
me to calling you?’
‘My name is Richard. Or you can call me
Nnanna.’
‘I knowing your name is Nnanna, Sir. I uses
to come fetching borehole at your father’s
house in Obeagu. You and your brother
chasing people away when they making too
much noise outside the gate.’
He chuckled. The smile lingered on his face
as he stared at her.
Her face turned curious. Her beauty seemed
highlighted in the expression.
‘Why you looking at me and smiling like
that, Sir?’
A feeling sprouted within him, driving his
lust to a dangerous height. He bent, swiftly
pressed his lips to hers and straightened up
again. The deed was done before she could
utter any protest.
She didn’t. She threw one hand to her
mouth as though his lips had burned her.
He saw no emotion in her eyes as she fixed
them on him.
‘Are you okay?’ he asked and instantly felt
that was not the right thing to ask.
She didn’t say a word, her palm still
covering her mouth and her blank eyes still
on him.
‘Mma?’ Remorse came over his face. ‘Mma,
I’m sorry, it’s–‘
‘Doing it again.’
His eyes flew wide. ‘What?’
‘I said doing that thing again.’
‘You want me to kiss you again?’
‘Yes, doing the kissing again.’
His heart gave out a pound that was near
audible. He inhaled deeply. He was amazed
that a kiss would excite him this way. He
kissed Cynthia frequently, she did him too,
but the kisses were different, brief, light,
majorly communicative, lacking of their true
purpose — this wonderful excitation.
He leaned towards her and gently planted
his lips in between hers.
She sucked his upper lip in and held it firm
underneath her teeth. He felt a delicious
pain.
Slowly he reached to the central line of
buttons on her long flower gown, gently
pulling out a button out of a hole one at a
time, careful to know if and when she would
protest so that he’d stop immediately.
But she didn’t.
But when he lowered his head and took her
left boobs into his mouth, she slapped his
head so hard his urge momentarily left
him.
‘I’m sorry,’ she said. ‘It sweeting me to
much.’
His desire came back with force and what
they had, though brief, the quickest he’d
ever arrived, was hot, mad and wonderful.
As they lay together on the sandy ground,
even the tingle of sharp sand particles felt
sweet on his skin.
His other phone rang this time.
‘Is that the fia-n-sea again, Sir?’
He checked. It was Cynthia again.
‘Yes.’
‘He wanting to tell you something?’
A thud hit his heart. He rose to a sitting
position on the sand and she copied.
‘Mma.’ He took her hand and folded it in
his.
‘A fiancee is the woman I’m going to marry.
Her name is Cynthia.’
The slap that landed on his shaved head
this time was hotter, scorching, and hadn’t
been spurred by ecstasy.

THE VILLAGE GIRL EPISODE 1

THE VILLAGE GIRL EPISODE 1

He touched her and she recoiled, bending
slightly, folding her hands while a bashful
smile drifted down her face.
He was amused, again, at the awkward
show of whatever it was village girls felt
when approached by a fine Lagos boy.
He was fine, he had known since a long
time. Since primary school days when he
was chosen to partake in all school drama,
from the way Miss Ngozi’s long cane
always froze on her hand each time she
wanted to flog him and he smiled.
Adaora who was many years his senior
would sneak him into her room and ask him
to touch her bosoms.
He grew fast; starting to touch and suck
bosoms at 9, having his first sex at 11 and
impregnating a girl at 16. Chidimma was
her name and it was only after she nearly
died during abortion that he became wise.
He was now a successful banker, lived in
his own house in Gbagada Estate, engaged
and soon to be married. His relationship
with Cynthia, his fiancee, had blossomed
over the years despite the numerous things
she did that he didn’t approve of; her
extravagant spending, her complicated
make-up regime and her obsession of the
social media.
He has since resigned to patience for he
knew he had not always been so saintly.
Even now he yet didn’t think he was, but he
was well aware of the difference, the new
insertion of discipline and morality.
But something about this village girl he’d
met only two days ago fascinated him. He
was not sure what it was yet he felt for her
but he was marveled by the strength of her
hold on him. He has moved his trip back to
Lagos to Friday having lied to Cynthia that
the construction required he stayed for
some more days. His self-given penance for
the lie was tempered by his lack of any
sinful ascription to the meeting…yet.
He was staring at her now. Her dark skin
shone to his face like the gold cast of
setting sun. Though her slender cornrows
were not as sophisticated as Cynthia’s
near-natural hair wears, it still gave her
face that definitive ascent it needed to
glow.
A beauty so crude, fresh, raw, untainted…he
felt dreamy.
‘What cream do you use?’ he asked.
‘I use Vaseline, Sir.’
‘And it affords your face this lustrous glow,
impressive.’
‘You talking what, Sir?’
He smiled, that his smile that showed two
front teeth in a way that was strangely
attractive. He has wondered why Cynthia
always rushed and kissed him each time he
smiled like that.
‘You are beautiful, Mma,’ he said.
She smiled, bending away again.
‘Why do you smile?’ He knew, he just
wanted to ask.
‘The way you calling me, Mma, Sir.’
‘Is that not your name?’
‘No, Sir. I telling you that day that my
name is Nwa-amulu-na-mma, Sir, and you
saying is long and you shorting it to Mma,
Sir.’
He held himself not to laugh. He sensed her
discomfort in the silence that followed. He
worked fast to end it but she came through
first.
‘I going now, Sir. My mother looking for me
and not seeing me, she shouting to the
whole neighbors.’
He was as surprised as confused at the
extra thud her mentioning of leaving gave
his heart. He didn’t want her to go. He
couldn’t afford to allow her go.
‘Please don’t go. Stay with me.’
‘But we not doing anything here, Sir. Your
workers all gone home and we just here
alone.’
A thought hit him and his man organ
responded even before his mind could fully
process the thought. He took her hand.
‘Come with me.’
She drew back.
‘To where, Sir?’
‘Let’s go into the building.’
‘Doing what inside, Sir?’
‘I want you to help me do something.’
‘We staying here and doing it, Sir.’
‘No, it’s not conducive here. Come.’
‘But your car, Sir, people passing will
opening your car and stealing your thing.’
‘The car is safe. Come.’ He pressed a
button on the small remote attached to his
car keys and low clicking sounds were
heard.
‘Come.’
He led the way into a chamber of the
uncompleted building. He was passing into
the adjacent room which was darker when
she took back her hand.
‘I knowing what you thinking, Sir, but I not
doing it with you.’
He twisted his neck to her. ‘What?’
‘I know you wanting me to sleep with you,
Sir.’
Guilt splashed over his face, wilting his
features. ‘I’m sorry. I…I shouldn’t have. It’s
just I really like you.’
‘Okechukwu saying the same thing to me
every time when he coming from Onitsha
and buying me things but he running away
when I telling him I’m pregnant.’
‘You’ve had a child before?’
‘No, Sir, no child. I deceiving him to
knowing if he marrying me later but he
running away fast fast like uriri.’
He smiled and hugged her. He must have
pressed himself too tightly to her because
she drew back and said, pointing, ‘Sir, your
thing is standing.’
He looked down on the big bulge below his
waist. He has never looked so embarrassed.
His phone rang. He reached into his pocket
and pulled out a black, tall, slender phone.
He looked. It was Cynthia. He didn’t pick
it.

THE HEAT OF VIRGINITY (Episode 7)

I loved her and I became so fond of her. We became more carnal and grew in intimacy.

Everyday we engaged in lascivious delight and Tope began to enjoy the pleasurable ecstasy each time we entangled in the salacious act.

After my service year had ended, I decided to stay
back for a week so as to bid farewell to Tope. I knew everything we had was going to end as soon as I departed from Kogi state, and she knew that too. She couldn’t help but cry all through the last few days I spent with her. I felt for her, I was moved but I couldn’t change what fate had put before us.

The day I was leaving, she saw me off to the garage. As I waited for the vehicle to be filled, she was sobbing inordinately, her face covered in tears and her nose licking…. It was a sorry sight, I hugged her close and she cried out loud.

“Noo… My life! My life! Oh God why?” I said to her. “Tope it’s okay baby, I will miss you dearly.” She then said.

“What will I do now? Where will I start from? I cannot love anybody again. oh God please…” I was able to calm her down and she stopped sobbing. We had already created a scene and people were beginning to say things. I then said to her.

“Tope, please I need you to have this money, it is N12,000 get a good phone so we can keep in touch.” She said. “Of what good will it be adeoluwa?
When I know I cannot have you forever.”

Raise your finger up a bit…. No a little bit down….Yes
there.”
She directed me to the spot but it didn’t seem like an
opening. I then applied little pressure in putting the tip
of my finger inside, She closed her eyes and said. “Be careful, it hurts a bit.” The tip of my finger finally got in, so I started
taking it in and out continuously. She then said.
“Adeoluwa please I want you on top of me. I need you
to do the real thing.” I then said. “It would hurt, I don’t want to hurt u.”
She then said. “You deserve it adeoluwa I love you.” I
couldn’t decline her, so I mounted on her and I said.
“Tope you have to help out here, you have to use your hand to align it to the position.”
She then assisted me to it. My cap was just on the
surface of her v***na. I then started to apply little pressure on it. I really didn’t want her to feel much pain. She then said. Adeoluwa just do it….Just do it.”
I couldn’t push it in, I felt it was gong to hurt, it was
just so tight. While I use still applying pressure she then tilted her waist towards me, causing an abrupt intrusion. She screamed and held me tight. There was a snap inside of her, I felt it. I knew it was better I remained inside of her.  It was very obvious she was in extreme pain, I could tell by
the grip she had in her embrace. She then said.
“Continue Adeoluwa, continue. Don’t stop no matter what.” I then
started thrusting… She closed her eyes pretty tight
trying to bear every pain she perceived. I get sorry for her but happy for myself.
The feeling inside of her was soothing and mind blowing.
Her tightened grip on me enthralled me to an ecstasy I had never experienced before.
After about 10 minutes I climaxed inside of her. It was so compelling I had to lie on top of her and remained inside till I shrunk out of her. I then put on the light and the bed sheet
was stained with blood, it was a gory sight. she helped
removed it and washed it that night. We both showered and laid on the mattress and started talking. I said to her.
“What came over you?”
She said. “My friend Bimpe got deflowered last week
by a guy that never truly loved her. She gave it to him
because she wanted him to stay. But I gave it to you because you are truly caring, loving and supporting. I have written JAMB exams 4 times and because of you I made it this time. My life would have be nothing without you.” I said to
her. “Tope, I truly care about you. But don’t you think that
was too extreme?” She said. “It had to be you. It would
have been with a guy that doesn’t deserve it. We have
known each other for 3 months and you never asked for it. I have no regrets Adeoluwa Even though we don’t end up together.”
I then said. “You are sweet girl Tope.” She said. “One
more thing.” I said. “What?” She then said. “We have to do it one more time in the morning, my friend told me the more I do it the more I enjoy it. I need to enjoy you Adeoluwa I know you are finishing service soon and I won’t see you again.  Please let me have the privilege.”
I pondered for a while and I said. “Okay Tope, no problem.”
We had s*x that morning, though she was in pain but
she bore it all because of me, because of her love, her
commitment, her pa*sion for me. I knew in my heart
that if her circumstances was a bit better I would vow to marry her against all odds. I loved her…………

THE HEAT OF VIRGINITY (Episode 5)

I didn’t have condoms with me and it was late to get
one.
After about 15 minutes she then came out from the
bathroom wrapped in my towel. She then put off the
light switch and laid beside me.
She apparently didn’t have any clothes on. Before I
could say jack…. My erection had manifested. But I vowed
not to make the first move. About 10 minutes passed and no move was made.
She then rested her head on my chest and put her left
laps on my leg. And I thought to myself. “If we spend the night like this it won’t be bad.” I then put my left hand on her left
shoulder and began to fondle her shoulder a bit. Next thing I felt was a grip on my joystick. She said. “I have never held one before. You are the first and you will be the last. I love you Adeoluwa I came to give you my body, please be easy
on me, I am still a virgin.” I was put in a dilemma, I
wanted her and I didn’t want her at the same time. I couldn’t think of what to say to her than. “Tope I love you too.” It escaped me
quickly before my thoughts. I was letting my heart
speak not my head. I damned the consequences of tomorrow and embraced the pa*sion of now. I had just less than a month
to wrap of my service year and I needed to hold on to
something to linger in the archives of my memories.
She began to kiss my chest, sending electronic signals to my s*xual hormones. Unleashing the demon within me. She
kept on kissing and using her lips to clinch my Tips,
that was the last straw that broke the camels back. I then took charge
and laid her on her back. I s----d her Tips tenderly and
caressively, she moaned embracing my head while at
it. Although I had read about it in books: How to deflower
a virgin. With no practical experience I knew it was going to be a long night. While I was sucking her Tips my right hand was
fondling her region. She was so wet with slimy stuff,
but I didn’t mind. I knew I had to fondle with that place too. So I later decided to put one finger inside her honey
well. It was really a difficult task and I didn’t know where the orifice was, not that I could put on the light and search for it In the
quest of ransacking the opening, I put my finger in her butt. Hole, she then said. “Ah adeoluwa that’s my anus………

I was moved by what she said. No lady had ever said
that
thing to me before. I began to feel for her and that was
when I started to really care for her. She looked at my
feet
and said. “Aaah.. Adeoluwa. Look at your toe nails.
Don’t you
cut them?”
I felt a bit embarra*sed and said. “No now… They are
hard
and my nail cutter is missing. I will get another one in
town.”
She then said. “Do you have a razor blade?
Let me help you cut it.”
I said. “No oo.. Please I don’t like using razor on me, it
could
cut me.”
She then said. “Trust me.”
I got her the razor blade and she meticulously cut my
toe
nails neatly. She then took a napkin soaked with water
and
she cleaned my feet. No lady had shown me much
compassion and care.
Immediately I erased the lustful thoughts I had on her
and I
decided to do everything to make her succeed in her
JAMB
exams.
Our friendship grew and I found out how remarkable
she
was. I began to love her but I fought really hard not to
reveal
it to her. I respected her and I knew she was a good
lady and
I didn’t want to start something I couldn’t finish. I was
aware
we both had feelings for each other, but I was afraid it
will
lead to nowhere and also I didn’t want to make a
promise I
couldn’t fulfill. It was a tough decision for me, cause I
had to
fight every temptation that came my way.
She was really improving in her preparations towards
her
examination. She was able to solve all the difficult
problems
she once faced and I was proud she was making a
headway.
The JAMB exams came and she smashed it. She
scored 250
and I bought her a wrist watch for doing so good.
It was friday night around 9:30pm. I heard a knock on
the
door and it was Tope. I was really surprised seeing her
there
and I said to her. “Why are you out this late?”
She said. “I told my mom I was going for Vigil.”
I then said. “Come in, you lied to your mom abi?” She
couldn’t answer me.
I made her noodles and she ate. We both laid down on
the
bed, I knew what I feared the most was revealing its
head. I
had just my boxers on and I don’t like sleeping with
much
clothes on.
She then said. “Do you have water in the bathroom, I
want
to shower.”
I then knew that night was going to be an intriguing
one. I
said. “Yes there’s water in the bathroom. You can use
this
towel it’s clean.” She took the towel and went into the
bathroom…

THE HEAT OF VIRGINITY (Episode 3)

THE HEAT OF VIRGINITY (Episode 3)

Her first day at my place was an amazing one. She
brought me rice, dodo and 3 pieces of meat. I was really
touched
and I felt she truly cared for me. The most enthralling
thing
she did again was, she washed all my dirty clothes,
including
my boxers and she swept my room and arranged my
stuffs.
No lady had done such to me except my mom. I was
moved
by that and felt more obliged to her.
We couldn’t do any reading that day. So I walked her
home
around 6:30pm. I got to my room and it looked quite
different. Neat and very organized. I laid on my neatly
made
bed and I thought to myself. “Is it possible something
real
can happen between Tope and I??” But I considered the
years she would spend in the University and all.
She came the following day. This time she wore a
fitted
gown. I Knew I was going to be in trouble if I don’t
seldom
caution myself. I then told her to list out the most
difficult
topics she was facing. I put her through and she was
quite
intelligent in grasping, I was really impressed by her
keen
interest in understanding.
After studying she then looked at me and said. “How is
your
girlfriend?” I laughed and said. “Tope I don’t have a
girlfriend.” She said. “I don’t believe you.” I then said
to her.
“Tope, I am not lying to you. Girls don’t find me
attractive,
it’s not that I am good looking. Even while in school, I
never
had the chance to date any girl I admired.”
She said. “adeoluwa , I know you are special I saw it in

eyes the first time we met at my mom’s canteen. You
are a

“Sorry about it.”
I then said. “Its’s okay, no sweat. Your mom is strict
right?”
She said. “No she’s not. I am preparing for JAMB exams
and
seeing me with a guy would upset her”.
I then said to her. “Then why are you here working in the
canteen? You should be attending lessons now”. She
said.
“My elder sister is not feeling too fine and she’s the one
in
charge of the canteen. Yesterday was my first day here” I
asked her. “What course do you intend to study?” She
said.
“Biochemistry.”
I said to her. “I finished with a first class in Chemical
Engineering. if you need any assistance I will be glad to
help
you.”
She said. “Wow, that will be nice. I have a problem with
chemistry and physics. You must be a genius! ” I laughed
and said. “No I am not, I just love to read my books a lot.
It
takes hard work and persistence to be successful.
My dad is a Professor and my mom is a Judge, they
really
encouraged me”.
We finished cleaning up and I decided to walk her home
which she agreed. As we walked, we talked about our
families and she opened up about the challenges she
faced
gaining admission, being the only child amongst her
siblings
privileged to attend higher institution. I was so bent in
making her pass her JAMB and I promised her I would
teach
her through.
I convinced her to tell her mom she needed to prepare for
her exams and that she won’t be able to continue with
the
running of the canteen.
The mom eventually succumbed and she got a
replacement.
I made an arrangement with Tope, for her to be coming
to
my place 4:00pm Mondays to Fridays and 1:00pm on
Saturdays, which she agreed.
My intentions were sincere, but with a little thoughts of
side
attractions. In spite of being attracted to her, I wanted
her
more than anything to pass her JAMB exams this time
around…

The Heat of Virginity Episode 1

My name is adeolu.
There’s a saying. “What can’t kill you can make you
stronger.”
But the truth is action speaks louder than mere words.
I don’t know how strong I will be coming out from this
predicament that I have found myself.
This all started about 2 years ago in my youth service
year in
Kogi state. There was this very good canteen not too far
from Yagba East local government council, where I
frequent
often for my CDS. It was the aroma that lured me to the
place, the savory of scented stew and fried meat, it was
irresistible, I couldn’t just evade myself from the luscious
captivity that overwhelmed me Perhaps, a simple restrain
would have changed history, would have saved me from
all
these. As I entered the canteen, I grabbed a plate and
stood
on the queue salivating and waiting for my turn. When it
got
to my turn, before me was something more compelling
than
the meal that I expected. My eyes got locked in contact
with
the young lady who was serving the meal.
She was beautiful beyond expression, I could hardly
compose myself and it took me some few seconds to
reboot.
She then asked.
“What food do you want sir?” In fluent English. I
stuttered.
“Give me….. rice N50, dodo N50 and 3 pieces of meat.”
I was going to pay and she refused to collect the money.
I
didn’t understand the kind gesture, I then insisted and
she
smiled at me and said.
“It’s okay, it’s on me.” I then took a seat and started
eating.
While I was eating, I noticed her looking at me at some
instance. It drove my curiosity wild and I was eager to
know
her. She sounded quite polished and she looked more
dignified than running a local canteen, I knew there was
more to it. As I was done, I went to meet her and said to
her.
“Thank you very much. My name is Adeolu can I know
your
name?” She giggled and said. “My name is Tope.”
As we both smiled at each other like teens gripped in
some
high school crush. So I left the place hoping to return the
following day. I got to my rented room and I was still
thinking of Tope.
She was average height, dark skinned and very attractive.
Her curves were at the right angle and her bursts were an
eye candy.
I knew I needed companion to quench my lust while I
served
my country in the beautiful state of Kogi and Tope just
happened to fit into the picture. Being a nerd and a
slacker
isn’t a thing to be proud of. I had only had s*x once,
thanks
to Seun who took me clubbing then some chic agreed to
get
down with me and at the end made me pay N4,000…That
wasn’t funny. I felt I needed to lay claim of my very own
pet,
a decision I soon regret.
The following day I went to the canteen, but this time
around
I went there late.
Unfortunately food had finished, but the good thing was
that
Tope had time to spare. She was busy preparing to wash
the
dishes and I didn’t hesitate to assist her.
She didn’t want me to get my hands dirty but I insisted. I
helped her in getting water and she was
thrilled that a corper would stoop so low helping
her with the dishes. Well, why wouldn’t I, itgranted me the
avenue to view her heavy kegs that
jiggled as she was washing the dishes. Suddenly her
mother
appeared from a distance, Tope sighted her and she said
to
me.
“Please hide, don’t let her! see you.”

Please hold on, Episode 2 would soon be here.

MARRIAGE BATTLE......EP 8 FINAL EPISODE

MARRIAGE BATTLE......EP 8 FINAL EPISODE

Here comes the final episode of marriage battle...hope you've learnt from Kenny n Princess?

Final episode!

*LITTLE THINGS THAT MATTERS*

*MARRIAGE BATTLE*

After a whole month of daily calls to Kenny with no response, I finally gave up. I knew my marriage was over. I had gone through the full cycle from tears to pain in my heart to anger to being just blank. I have finally resigned myself to fate. Even the strength to pray had left me. I have tried interpreting Kenny's silence in different ways but my conclusion was that he just didn't love me enough to fight for us. I sent him different text messages and not once did he humour me and respond. I just could not understand why a man will be silent after hearing his wife was raped.

As always my mum walked into my bedroom that Friday afternoon once again to ask what happened between my husband and I. She had soon figured out something was wrong but I always refused to tell her.

''Lola, you know what? Your father and I have tried. You have stayed in our house for over a month and we have been caring. You can't keep saying there is nothing wrong when I have been married for thirty five years and I know more than you''

''Mum, please I don't have the strength to argue''.

''Okay then, your father and I have decided you can't live here anymore. We will not harbour a married woman in our home. Since you and your husband don't respect us enough to seek for advice. Please go back to him or wherever you want but you cannot stay under my roof''.

Still shocked at what she was saying, ''Mum?''

''Daughter!!! Yes?''

I finally relented. I didn't even have a plan B.'' Mum, Kenny and I have serious problems. Our marriage is not even up to a year and we don't even know how to move forward''.

''Okay tell me everything''.

So I sat for over an hour and told my mum every single detail from my wedding night to the day I left Kenny's house. Surprisingly, my mum did not interrupt or blow up at me. I expected her to start screaming but her calmness amazed me.

''Heeeeeeee Omolola, O ti ba ye je ( you have spoilt the world)'' She said in Yoruba language when I was finally done.

''Mummy haba, what did I do wrong? How can Kenny just abandon me here? His love is fleeting mum, it can't even stand the test of time''. I said with deep anger and disappointment.

''hmmmmm, first of all, you are changing your church. The kind of pastor's wife that will give you such advise is not who you should be listening to. Why didn't you call me? Why did you go to an outsider?''

''Mum, you are the one that said I should keep our matters private''.

''Not when it is crumbling my dear, we all need help once in a while''.

''Okay mum, what do we do now? Do you think there is any chance for Kenny and I''.

''Of course, your father and I have had greater battles that we have overcome. Marriage is filled with battles, we fight, win, conquer and fight another day. We never give up. It only ends the day you stop fighting for it. Lola, you keep fighting till you conquer. There is no end. You made some terrible decisions and took some wrong steps''.

''Mum, what about Kenny? He took a lot of wrong steps too''.

''Yes, I will face Kenny but I need to talk to you first. I told you not to kill yourself over not having a child yet. It will come. You shouldn't have fasted and deprived your husband without his full consent. Moreso, you should have given him his marital rights between 6pm when you break your fast and midnight when the next day starts. You shouldn't have run from your home without his consent and come hide here. To tell you the truth, it will take God for Kenny to be able to sleep with you again. Both of you, your actions have spoilt a lot of things. This matter should not have generated to this level. First thing tomorrow morning, I am going back to Abuja with you, we are going to see your husband''

True to her word, by 11 am on Saturday, which was the next day, we had arrived my house. As soon as I saw Kenny's car parked in the compound, my heart started beating fast. I wished he was not home even though mum had called earlier and told him she was coming to see him. He opened the door as soon as we were approaching and I assumed he had seen us through the window and prostrated, greeting my mum in yoruba language. Kenny totally ignored me and my mum just smiled at us. I left them in the sitting room and went into the room. Everything was just as I left it and my investigation as to whether somebody else had been living with him came up empty. I heard my mum call me from the living room and I quickly dropped my bag and went back to join them.

''Mummy, Lola does not want to be married. In less than a year of marriage she has shown blatant disregard and disrespect both for me and this home and I am sick of it. Does she think if it was another man, he won't have started womanizing by now? I stayed faithful even when she refused to be faithful to our marriage vows''. Kenny said with so much anger.

''Please don't threaten us with tales of unfaithfulness. So you want an award because you didn't cheat? I said.

''Keep your mouth shut Lola, just shut up'' my mum shouted while Kenny just shook his head. I instantly felt remorseful.

I listened as my mum and Kenny started talking. I truly listened to his hurts and pains as he opened up to my mum and for the first time I understood the gravity of where we were. By the time they started talking about the rape incident, Kenny shed tears. He just kept quiet while tears fell from his eyes and I was broken for both of us.

''Mummy, I warned Lola, I warned her not to go. I haven't been able to get that image out of my head ever since Daddy told me. Where do we start from? She refused to sleep with me all in the name of prayers and freely gave it to a thief?''

''Kenny, don't say she freely gave it. We all still feel the pains of that night most especially your wife. The pain she is still in as a result of that incident is great. She needs a lot of time to heal''. My mum said.

''I warned her, I warned her mummy'' Kenny insisted.

My mum began to talk to Kenny about us communicating better, about understanding each other and being quick to forgive. She spoke and fear gripped my heart as I looked at Kenny's face.

After so much advise from mum, Kenny began to calm down.

''Both of you need to pray, be patient and communicate'' mum said again.

''Mummy, truth be told, I am not sure if this marriage still exists. I don't even know where to start with Lola'' Kenny said.

''You both start with forgiving each other and then take it one step at a time. You start with conversations, heart to heart ones, share your pains and fears and with time the intimacy will come and with time you will heal''.

''Okay mummy, thank you ma.'' Kenny said.

About an hour later, mum left our home in a cab, headed to the airport for her flight back home. She refused to stay the night despite all our pleas. As soon as she left, I turned to Kenny to apologize.

''Baby, I am sorry''.I said to Kenny as he went back to sit on the sofa and I sat beside him.

He turned to me and said ''I pray to God to give me the enabling spirit to take that bad rape incident off my mind, Omololami, I am sorry too, I am sorry I wasn't with you during this painful period. Truth is, I don't even know if we can fix this, but first and foremost, we are both going to change our place of worship. We shall pray fervently for God to lead us through this hard time''.

''We will babe'', I said with renewed confidence, ''we will, one day at a time''. To God be the glory, that's *THE END*.

MARRIAGE BATTLE ...EP 7

MARRIAGE BATTLE ...EP 7

My conversation with Kenny made me realize he didn't value me as his wife and so I made a decision to give him space. I called my mum and told her I was coming home for a week. I was able to convince her Kenny supported my decision and I packed my bags. I was going to go home for a week. The next morning I told Kenny about my trip,

''I listened to everything you said and I have decided we probably need to give each other some space. I am taking a break and travelling to my parent's house''. I said

Kenny shook his head, ''you should be ashamed of yourself Lola. In fact when they call women to stand up, you should hide your face in shame. So you cannot take care of your home, you can't satisfy your husband and now rather than deal with your problems you are running?

''Kenny, I refuse to be insulted. I sat quietly while you heaped insults on me yesterday but that doesn't mean I will continue to take it. You said my presence is causing you sorrow and now I am giving you space. I will take the time apart to pray for us''

''I don't freaking need your prayers madam. In fact, God will not answer that prayer because he has told you everything you need to do in the Bible. Stop praying for me and start satisfying me''.

''Ehen, so the other day, when I bought sexy lingerie and waited for you at home, did you not leave me hanging? You are confused and don't know what you want''.

''You want to go? Fine! Get the hell out but you just might not meet this marriage when you come back''.

''Like I said, I will take the time apart to pray, God will sustain our home'' I told him emphatically.

He just shook his head and closed his eyes on the bed, effectively ending the conversation. I packed my bags and headed straight to the airport.

Late in the night that day, while I sat in my parent's sitting room, my mum was trying to get stories out of me.

''So why didn't Kenny take a break with you madam?''

''Mum, he is busy with work, that's the same thing I told dad before''.

''That doesn't mean he should not spend a weekend with us. We have not seen him since the wedding.''

''Isn't that why I am here? At least once you see one of us you have seen two of us. After all the two have become one.'' I said laughing.

''Okay , no problem. I tried to call him earlier that we have seen his wife but he was not picking his call''.

''I am sure he will probably call you back tomorrow. He is probably resting early now that I am not home''.

''Okay, but Omolola how is marriage life? I hope you are being submissive and taking care of your husband well enough''.

''Mummy, did he complain to you? I am trying my best''.

''Why are you getting defensive? Is everything okay? I hope this delay in pregnancy isn't putting you under pressure?''

''No, it's not mum, we are fine with it. Everything is okay''.

''There is no cause for alarm yet. It's not even up to a year yet. I waited 3 years before I was able to get pregnant with your elder brother and then you so everything will be fine.''

''I know mum...''

The hard knock on the door startled us.

''Mum are you expecting anyone so late? Its 11pm already and dad has gone to bed''.

''No I am not but it could be that our neighbours need something, go and open the door''.

As I got close to the door to open it, I was suddenly knocked off my feet by the force of it being jacked open. My eyes went wide open as I saw them, three in number with their weapons held up high. I closed my eyes shut and began to pray.

''Okay so pray very well beautiful girl, you just might need it'' the voice said. My eyes was still squeezed shut so I could not identify which of them spoke. As soon as I felt a hand pull me by my hair, my eyes flipped open and I was dragged into the living room to meet my mum who was already in tears and shaking.

Five days later, I woke up once again with screams as has been the practice since that horrible night. My dad was immediately by my side soothing me as the tears rolled down my face.

''It's okay Omolola. You're fine and safe. Daddy is here''.

''Daddy, I am afraid. Kenny has not come''.

''I know he hasn't. I will still call him again. Just try and get stronger first okay?''

''He hasn't picked my calls dad. Since you told him, he has not picked my calls once''.

As my dad eventually left me alone in the bedroom with my thoughts, I recalled that evil night as clear as the day. I remember my dad being dragged from the bedroom and asked to give them money. I remember the exhaustive search for money which proved abortive as my dad and mum only had a total of about N50,000 at home. I remember adding the N20,000 I had in my bag and the man telling me I was insulting him with change. As soon as I apologized, he looked at me and really looked at me and I knew what he was going to do before he even did it. I could see it vividly in his eyes. I begged,

''Please, I am married. I beg you''

''So what are you doing in daddy's house fine girl, your husband is not servicing you well abi? I will help his matter. He needs help''.

I begged, my dad and mum begged and his only response was because of their begging, he won't make them watch. I fought as hard as I could and for every struggle there was a slap and a punch. He finally had to get the other man to hold me down. I fought every step of the way. I was numb. The physical pain was welcome, I could deal with that. I couldn't deal with the heaviness that crushed my heart. All through as he kept thrusting faster than I could ever imagine, I thought of Kenny and how much pain this was going to cause him. I remember him warning me not to make this trip. He kept going on and on for about thirty minutes before he finally let go. Funny how he had the decency to use a condom. I had no strength left. I was broken. For the first time in my christian walk, I questioned God. I asked him questions. His silence was deafening.

It has been five days since my nightmare, five days since my dad informed Kenny, three days since I got back home from the hospital and he still hasn't showed up. I have no more will left to even live another day.

MARRIAGE BATTLE ....EP 6

MARRIAGE BATTLE ....EP 6

About Eight hours after, I finally sat in the office of the doctor to get a detailed explanation on Kenny's condition. All I had been told as I waited was that he was alive and he had been taken in for ultrasound and later for surgery. The nurses refused to tell me the severity of the accident and I had brought hell down screaming and shouting. Eventually, I called my sister-in-law who came to wait with me and was able to calm me down. I had to leave the hospital briefly to use the cash machine and make some monetary deposits but aside from that I had been unable to drink even a drop of water.

''Mrs Ayorinde, thank you so much for your patience'' the doctor started, but I quickly cut him short

''Sir, please just go straight to the point, how is he? What happened? What was the surgery for? Is he okay? Did the surgery go well?''

''Madam, I will answer all your questions but I need you to relax a bit''

''Okay, please go on'' I said.

''Your husband is fine and the surgery was successful. He suffered from testicular trauma as a result of the force of his testicles on the bicycle when the accident occurred''

''Jesus Christ!!!!! see trouble.. What do you mean testicular trauma? He doesn't have testicles again? How are we supposed to have children now? Haaaaaaa Kenny will kill me''.

''Please relax and let's not jump the gun here. I didn't say he doesn't have testicles again. There was just some rupture and dislocation as well and that is why we had to do an immediate surgery. It has been successfully fixed now and we are hopeful that there should be no cause for infertility in the nearest future. Of course, we will advise that he stays off sexual activity for a while until he is properly healed to avoid him developing hernia. He should be fine within a week''.

''Okay doctor, thank you so much. So when will we be discharged''.

''I will want to just observe him overnight to be sure he is okay. He should be able to go home tomorrow''.

We eventually got home the next day after staying in the hospital all night. His sister left us in the hospital later in the evening after confirming that Kenny was okay. Kenny was  withdrawn and quiet and it felt like the cycle had started again. It was still surreal that it was just yesterday morning we agreed to call a truce and it felt like that did not even happen.

''Darling are you okay? I asked after he had settled down on the bed''

''Lola, no I am not okay. You know what? I regret marrying you. I don't feel like the man that found a wife and found a good thing because it's like your sole purpose is to cause me sorrow and sadness''.

My mouth was agape. I just did not understand the reason for such anonymity.

''You know when I decided to marry you I had a plan. I knew what I wanted. I wanted a woman who will love me and make me happy. I wanted a life of joy and happiness. I wanted to build fun memories of just the two of us even outside the kids but I have not had any of that with you. It's from one problem to another. We have been married for just 9 months and already I am tired''

''Kenny, why will you say all these to me? Why? What exactly have I done to destroy your so called happiness so much?''

''Immediately after the wedding, it took about 2 weeks for you to even calm down enough to let me deflower you. As soon as that was over, you got fixated about pregnancy making sex totally boring. When I was talking to you about just enjoying each other and having fun, all you did was lie down there missionary style claiming that is the best way to get pregnant. After five months of that, you went into your so called fasting period and now because of all the frustration you have put me through, I went to ride my bicycle just to vent and got into an accident? Did you know it was because I was thinking about you that I lost concentration? And to crown it all, it's like the devil was trying to crack a joke, testicular trauma? I am tired madam''

I sat there in silence not knowing what to say and after a while I just got angry.

''How dare you Kenny? How can you blame me for your sadness or so called unhappiness? I wake up daily praying for you and this is how you repay me? Was it not when you married me your business went from struggling and started excelling and you dare insult me? I wont let the devil use you more than he already has. This conversation is over. Do whatever you want''. I stood up from his side and walked out of the bedroom with deep confusion in my heart. For the first time I wondered if it would not have been better staying single...

MARRIAGE BATTLE EP4

MARRIAGE BATTLE EP4

It has been a week since I finished fasting and Kenny has still not spent a single night in the house. Every morning he came home to dress for work and didn't come home till the next morning. Every morning I met him at the door begging and cajoling but it was always the same. He totally ignored me, walked past into the guest room and walked back out once he was done changing cloths and having his bath. Not one word was ever said in acknowledgement.

I began to think I probably should have compromised during the 100 days. I did not expect him to take it this far. I did not even know what plausible solution I could execute. I knew sex was a big deal to men but it was always painful for me anyway so I was never all excited about it. On our wedding night, when Kenny deflowered me, I thought I was only going to feel the pain for less than a week but it has been six months and every single intimacy we have had was laced with very uncomfortable pain. Chauvinist as Kenny was, he felt I was just making a mountain out of a molehill and sex could not be as painful as I was making it to be. Truth was if not for the sake of procreation I was comfortable not having sex ever. The hype is definitely more than the experience.

I finally decided that maybe some physical solution was needed since the spiritual was not solving Kenny and his problem. I went to Google that afternoon as I got home from work and searched '' how to stop painful sex''. As soon as I finished reading of different positions to do to ease the pain and how the pain was coming from my mind. I made a few decisions on making sure sex became enjoyable. Next, I Googled, ''how to seduce your husband and I felt so uncomfortable with the sheer number of unholy things I discovered. I decided to take a bold step and put some things I found to practice to ensure Kenny finally stayed home for the night. As alien as it felt, I typed some steamy texts I found online to Kenny at one hour interval each,

*''I am burning with desire for you honey''*

When I did not get any response an hour later, I sent another one I found online,

*''I can't focus, all I can think about is what you will do to me if you were here with me''*

Still no response, I sent this 30 minutes later,

*''You taught me how to make love, tonight I will show you how much I have learnt''*

I got a response after this saying,

''Please I am in a meeting with the board''

I was so happy I literally jumped up from my seat. This was the only statement Kenny had sent to me in a week and I decided to send more.

*''Just thinking about you inside of me...''*

He responded immediately,

''Stop this rubbish Omolola''

😳😳😳😳.... Yeah!

I decided I had, had enough of Google and composed one text message of my own.

''Please come home and stay tonight. I accept I was wrong. I want to make it right and make it up to you. Please give me a chance, I love you baby''.

He responded simply with,

''Okay''.

I was so happy and I quickly jumped up from the couch and drove to the supermarket. I bought a new matching lingerie, a foot massage kit and also full body massage oil. I had read on Google that massaging the foot and body could do wonders in pointing in the right direction. I also bought a lubricator. Google had taught me so much. I immediately rushed home after and prepared fried rice with plantain and peppered chicken for Kenny. By 8pm, I was finally done and ready for him to walk in. I sat on the sofa in my lingerie and the table was already set. I tried calling Kenny but his phone was off so I waited.

I must have slept off on the sofa because the sound of the door being opened woke me up the next morning at about 7am. Kenny never showed up last night. He walked in and paused for a minute staring at me before walking past as usual to the guest room. I sat down in frustration and cried so hard. I was still crying when he exited the door.

MARRIAGE BATTLE.....EP 5

On Saturday morning when Kenny walked into the house, I had decided enough was enough and I was not going to pay for my sins forever. He had no right whatsoever to keep sleeping outside the house under the guise of anger. I was already waiting for him and as soon as he stepped in, I just blew up,

''Where do you think you are coming from oga?'' I shouted.

He looked at me like I had suddenly grown two heads and to my surprise he replied, ''Sunrise hotel''.

''Is that where you have been staying?'' I asked unsure. Not expecting him to answer in the first place.

''Yes I got a room there'' he answered and looked at me, ''Is that all? he asked.

''No, that is not all Kenny and don't make me feel stupid. You have been sleeping outside for the past three weeks and now I am questioning you, you're acting ignorant'' I was truly bewildered.

''Madam, you asked me where I have been and I answered you. How am I acting ignorant?''

''Kenny, once again, I am sorry''.

''Okay I have heard. Just to be clear though, what exactly are you sorry for?''

''Well, I am sorry for depriving you of sex and fasting without your agreement. I am sorry for being inconsiderate of your feelings. Please can we just go back to how we were?''

''Okay, I have heard you'' he said with a straight face.

''Kenny, please now. What else do you want me to say or do?''

''Lola I said I have heard. Please don't stress me. I want to ride around the estate on my bicycle for a while. Is that okay?''

''Okay, that is fine. Do you promise to stay at home from today?'' I asked

''Yes, I will. So can I go change and head out now?''

I nodded and got out of his way and he immediately went to the room and changed into his riding outfit. He always looked so handsome in his tights and t-shirt whenever he wanted to exercise and watching him come out of the bedroom, I went to give him a hug half expecting him to turn me away but he gave me a very lingering hug and left soon afterwards. I was so giddy from the obvious reconciliation, I decided to cook something nice for his breakfast when he returned.

A little over thirty minutes later, I got the call that changed my life forever. With tears in my eyes not knowing what to expect, I grabbed my car keys and rushed out of the house to the hospital address I had been given. I still could not believe my ears that Kenny had been in an accident. He just left home barely 30 minutes earlier. The caller was unable to give details of the severity of the accident or what happened. As I drove out and met with traffic, I tried calling his number back to get more details but it was switched off. I contemplated calling family and friends but I decided to know the status of his health before calling anybody.

''Oh Lord, help me. You said we shall not die God, please keep my husband. I will not be a widow in my youth oh lord.''

Words of prayer failed me. I did not even know how to pray. Almost an hour later, I finally drove into the hospital compound and ran inside with deep fear, not knowing what to expect...

MARRIAGE BATTLE..EP 3

MARRIAGE BATTLE..EP 3

I decided that night that I had had enough of Kenny's erratic behaviour and we needed counselling. I waited for him to come home the next morning but he never showed up. I called him around noon when I was getting worried but he did not pick my call. I got a text shortly after saying,

''I am quite surprised you are looking for me. Don't worry, I am fine. Don't let me distract you from God''.

I decided it was time to seek counsel from my pastor's wife.

*~~with my pastor's wife~~*

As I sat down with Mummy as we normally call her that evening after a word of prayer and recounted the full story of our challenges from the beginning of the fasting period. I was quite hopeful that I will get solutions on the next step to take. Mummy looked at me and shook her head as I showed her the last text I got from Kenny from my phone.

''Sister Lola, what does the Bible say about our parents and honour?''

''Honour your father and mother, that your days might be long'' I quickly replied wondering why we were talking about my parents when it was my marriage that needed healing.

''Do you remember when you came to me and decided you wanted to marry this young man who was barely a baby in the lord. I warned you to look for giants in the spirit. If you had honoured my words, surely the days of your marriage would have been long'', she said with obvious annoyance.

''I am sorry mummy, I love my husband and I think he loves God too''

''He loves God? You are still defending his actions? A man that cannot agree with you in prayer? That will not deny his body to feed his spirit? She asked me.

''I am sorry ma'' I quickly said.

Mummy was known for her short temper and I did not want to get on her bad side.

''Anyway the deed has been done. We need to find a way forward. You see the devil is not resting. He is obviously seeking to devour your marriage. Remember the scripture in Ephesians 6: 12 says, *"we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers and against the rulers of the darkness of this world"*. The battle is not with your husband. It is a fight in the spirit''.

''Okay ma'' I said.

''The devil knows this fast is going to liberate your marriage and he wants to stop it at all cost. The flesh will be satisfied eventually but you need to be spiritually fortified first. So make sure you complete it in total consecration to God''.

''Okay ma. What do I do about his refusal to come home ma?''

''Oh don't worry Lola, he will come home. He is like the prodigal son, he will surely return. Let us pray my dear''.

By the time I left my pastor's house after about two hours of prayer. I felt stronger and better. Kenny was just over reacting and I was definitely on the right course. I just needed to keep praying and not let my faith be shaken. When I got home and met Kenny relaxing in the sitting room, it confirmed to me that everything mummy said was correct since he returned like she had prophesied.

As the days passed things got more estranged. Kenny stopped going to our church and demanded I move to this new church he found. Of course I vehemently refused. It is important to be grounded and not church belly-hopping. I got daily text motivations from my mummy in the lord and that just encouraged me.

Finally the last day of the 100 days came and it was announced in church that couples should endeavour to attend together since there was going to be an all night prayer. I begged and pleaded with Kenny but he adamantly refused. I went to church alone that night and prayed every prayer possible. My joy knew no bounds the next morning because I knew that all the fight I have been having with Kenny was finally going to be over. I was going to make sure we had as much sex as he wanted later that night.

But....
